Shauna Small born and raise in Jamaica, loved fashion since a young age and decided to bring Jamaica for some of us who can't go whether live, vacation, on our every day life. Being a pageant contest in the Miss Jamaica petite fashion model in 2001, she decided to launch her own.Their Motto : Design for the Chick and the Feminine.
"I always loved fashion. Friends of my family were seamstresses and made my clothes, but I always had my own designs in mind", She shared.
She named her clothing line as a tribute of where she grew up "Dillon Avenue": "When I was coming up with names for my clothes, I had a huge list, but nothing struck me. I considered using my own name, but it wasn't enough. Then one day i was thinking about my grandmother, and i realized that all my designs are based on my life in Jamaica, so I came up with Dillon Avenue. I have an emotional connection to that name,e ven more so than using my own name."
Comparing to some of these new clothing line that doesn't inspire nothing and offers mostly big letters, no quality, this one brings you chic look for the every woman. She tried to create unique look that you would still be able
to wear on a daily basis. Looking fierce and getting all these eyes on you: "Anyone can make a t-shirt. I like to add some flair to simple pieces, some fringe, a plunging neck-line and then add accessories."
The spring 2009 collection brings you Jamaica to the U.s. We have Usain Bolt who brought Athletes to the map all around the world now we have Miss Shawna Small to bring us Jamaica on our clothes along side the Jamaican flags accentuated with the famous colors of Jamaica : Green, black and gold : "The reggae Divine collection was inspired by jamaica and i wanted it to be for Jamaica. I'm very proud of my roots!"
